For a long time, I thought I could overcome any set back with willpower, ibuprofen, and a stubborn attitude. Following the medical advice for the last 4 weeks and for another expected 8 weeks of "pretend that I am in a cast" I have sent off my official notice of withdrawal from the Trans Iowa.
While at it, I've also managed to lose all interest in bikes, riding, or motivation to do much of anything.I haven't set foot in my basement bike shop and have abandoned projects intended to be completed this winter. This "pretend I am in a cast" induced convalescence has put me in a miserable mood as sedentary lifestyle doesn't suit me particularly well.
