Pushing It

Continuing to push my personal limits. Thursdays seem to be the hardest day of the week for me. It was a struggle this morning to get out the door and onto my bike. Once I am over the mental hurdle and rolling down the street, it's generally not too bad.

This morning was another one of those mornings when it was cool, and humid... clammy on the ride in. Difficult to stay cool. I took the leisure route in an attempt at not showing up for work completely soaked with sweat. I was thinking about this while riding when I came to the conclusion that I'm just not capable of relaxing.

I started out noodling along with the intent of just keeping the exertion level low. Then came a slight descent and the speed picked up. Once the speed was up, I kept the cadence the same on the flatter section. Then came a slight incline and I kept the cadence the same, only now the exertion level was intensifying. Soon, I was riding along at my normal "pace," sweaty as ever.

On another note, I ran into the Large Fella yesterday on my way home from work. I think it is a little strange to meet someone with whom you have had no real previous conversation with, but know quite a bit about them. I would think it strange to have someone come up to me and say: "Hey, I know you!" Anyway, Scott, nice to meet you. I do look forward to crossing paths again.

No sweat Ken... it was cool, and again I hope we can do a hang sometime soon.

That said, when you approached from behind and called out my name, all I kept thinking was, "Holy fuck, I hope I haven't said something about this guy, or smeared something he enjoys doing".

Peace-
